Jim Talbott, Executive Director
Jim began working for SMOOTH in 2000 to develop SMOOTH’s newly
developed CTSA division serving special needs populations and social services.
In 2005, Jim was promoted to Executive Director by the SMOOTH Board. Jim
earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of
Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and brings over 25 years of management
experience to SMOOTH.
Fil Simas, Operations Manager
Fil was raised and educated nearby in California's Central Valley, and has lived
and worked in both California and Washington State. Fil's experience and
training is in Business Management. He has three grown children with
families of their own. Fil began working for SMOOTH in 2005 and oversees
SMOOTH's daily operations. The position involves training, organization, and
follow-up of Administrative staff, Drivers, Dispatchers, and the Route
Specialist's team in addition to company productivity and route performance
compliance, fleet maintenance, facilities, contract services management, and
client & public interactions.
Jennifer Cheek, Office Manager
Jennifer began working for SMOOTH in 2002 as the Administrative Assistant
for Jim Talbott and the CTSA. As SMOOTH grew and evolved, Jennifer was
promoted to Office Manager. She and is responsible for Human Resource
Administration, as well as overseeing Office Administration and Dispatching.
Jennifer has over 14 years of Office and Clerical experience. She earned her
A.S. in Computer Science from the Santa Rosa Junior College, as well as her
B.A. in Business Management from Saint Mary's College of California in
Moraga, California.
Jeffrey (Jeff) Klopp, Route Specialist/Driver Trainer
Jeff has been with SMOOTH since 2001. Prior to coming to SMOOTH, Jeff was
employed with the United Parcel Service and with a N.A.S.A. Contractor
Company.Jeff's position is unique in that he is the interface between
Management/Dispatch and the drivers. When a new policy or driver concern is
brought forth, his job is to act as the intermediary between the two. His
responsibilities are to educate the drivers on their contracted service
assignment, monitor the various routes for safety, time efficiency, and
company procedures. He updates the left/right directions for all routes,
manages the scheduling of driver hours along with the Office Manager &
the Operations Manager, and trains new drivers. He is Transportation Safety
Institute certified and has a background of eight years Driver Training in the
Classroom and behind the wheel.
